Show and Shine winners for the day were: .... Best Type 2 Split & Oldest of Show went to the 1957 split screen camper (reg TCG 67), owned by Martin & Jo Hall from Lancing. The splitty was fully restored over the past three years, including replica devon interior. Best Type 1 Modified went to the 1969 Karmann Cabriolet Beetle(reg YPG 82G), owned by Sarah Broadway from Swanage. The beetle cabrio has appeared in many magazines, including Volksworld, Performance VW and HOT VW's. Best Paint went to the 1998 T4 panelvan (reg S457LLN), owned by Gavin & Kim Brown of Poole. Lots of work and modifications had been done on this including spoke wheels, suicide doors sidepipes, flame paintwork... Best Engine went to the 2002 T4 Campervan(reg BV52 A2J), owned by Michael & Anne Whitburn from Cornwall With modified engine from the standard 88bhp to 150bhp Best Type 1 Stock went to the '71 1200 beetle, (reg EMY 633J), owned by Steven Sherlock from Dorchester. With Rally specification, including Minnowfish carbs on the 1200 engine. Lowest of Show went to the '71 Beetle, reg HMP 2151C, owned by Kim Goodridge of Poole, which had been fully restored in one year from a wreck Best Type 2 Bay AND Best of Show went to the ’73 Westfalia camper (reg OYP 719L) owned by Nick Carnell from Bristol. Best Type 25 of Show went to the '84 T25 Panelvan, reg F636WJT, owned by John Short of Wimborne. This had a new 2.1, with a lot of body restoration done. See you all in October, Sunday 7th! |
